The last rites of cremation in Hindu funeral is burning the body in Pyre. The cremation process also called as Antheysti or Antim Sanskar. One of the best place to cremate any dead body is in Harishchandra Ghat at Varansi (India). It is said that number of people use to visit the place to do cremation. Continuously 24x7 number of pyre keep burning in that small ghat . People used to be queue to and keep waiting for their turn get the cremation done.
Sharing few shot from the closed location:
Varanasi (Benaras) one of the holiest place in India. Situated on the bank of river. The land of sages and sadhus, where many have atoned knowledge. A place famous for worshipping Lord Shiva.
The trip to Varansai cannot be completed without visiting the ghats. On the river banks we have approx. 84 ghats with different name. Once such ghats famous for Burning Funeral Pyre is Harishchandra Ghat. It is said that number of people use to visit the place to do cremation. And Continuously number of pyre keep burning in that small ghat day night.
As per Hindu tradition, Cremation of the dead bodies are done by offering the dead bodies to lord Agni. The birth cycle of human gets completed by setting the bodies into pyre. A pyre is made up of wooden blocks and the dead bodies are placed right on the top. After few rituals the pyre were set on fire by the family member.
The above picture shows the rush at the ghat with with few burning pyre and few awaitinf for their turn.
A traditional belief among Hindus says that a person's body is composed of 5 elements- earth, fire, water, air and sky. The burning of a dead body signifies the release of the spirit and that the flames represent Brahma, the creator.
Cremation of a person's dead body is therefore, supposed to rid the departed soul .

I recently watched the movie "Masaan " where the family is this Occupation only. But then I read an article and that showed some picture where some people prefer no burning but directly drowning the body in water and hence creating water pollution which should not be acceptable as per my thoughts .
