I was around that area when the incident happened, heard the loud bang sound twice but didn't thought it was a Plane crash. Because army officials sometimes does this kind of stuff as their rescue practice and I thought it was also one of the practical from Nepal Army.But unfortunately, it was real this time :(.
A plane carrying 71 passengers and crew has crashed on landing at Nepal's Kathmandu airport, killing at least 50 people, according to police.
There were 71 people including four crew members on board the 78-seater Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft that took off from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The plane crashed at 2:18 pm local time.
Nepal Police DIG Manoj Neupane said 31 bodies were pulled out from the crashed plane and others were declared dead at different hospitals.
According to TIA spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur, the aircraft with call sign S2-AGU caught fire after it careened off the runway during landing and crashed onto a football ground near TIA.
"The aircraft was permitted to land from the southern side of the runway flying over Koteshwor, but it landed from the northern side," Sanjiv Gautam, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
And He is Basanta Bohara ,One of the survivors, who broke the window and jumped off the plane to save his life. Please get well soon brother.
