Night photography

Sometimes it's not possible to go to the airport by light, especially in wintertime. Or the airplane will only visit shortly at nighttime. With a tripod it's possible to take a nice atmosphere photo. But this is not easy. I take many pictures and select the best shot.

UR-DNT Dnieproavia - Embraer 145.

Maybe the most difficult photo is this one. The airplane stands totally in darkness, with only backlight. With a exposure time of 30 seconds I took this picture.

RA-85042 Russian Federation Air Force - Tupolev 154

A very special guest on Amsterdam Airport last month was this Tupolev 154 of the Russian Federation Air Force. This threeholder you don’t see often in Europe anymore. After many delays on departure this aircraft is standing in the dark.

G-SMLA Jota Aviation - British Aerospace 146

This pictures of a small 4 engine aircraft is also taken in the evening on Rotterdam Airport.

G-APSA British Eagle - Douglas DC-6

Air Atlantique painted their DC6 into the British Eagle colour scheme. This antique aircraft flew in 1958(!) for the first time.

TC-JVC THY - Boeing 737-800

A really sharp picture of this Boeing 737-800 of THY - Turkish Airlines. A few years ago THY flew a regular service to Rotterdam Airport. They flew in the evening to Rotterdam Airport and departure the next morning.
