I almost gave up on steem

About a year ago, I was almost ready to give up on Steem. When I tried writing a blog post, it did not get any traction. My upvote was worth 0.000 and the price of steem was still going down. But fortunately I stayed and a couple things happened in short succession.

First, I won a contest by @atongis. The result was that I got some delegation for 90 days. Which was just enough to make my upvote worth 0.001 which is not much, but infinitely more than absolutely zero.

Then as steem-engine was launched I got airdropped some tokens and some had a bit of value.

Also I came in contact with the plankton.token community. Which is there specifically for the red fishes like me that find it really hard to get noticed and earn some steem. Besides the fact that it is really nice to become part of a community of people that support you. There is also the amazing fact that if you hold 20 plkn tokens in your wallet and send an additional 5 to @mermaidvampire that you will get free upvotes from the @plankton.token account. Since this account is also followed by a bunch of nice people, you will actually get multiple upvotes.

This helped me a lot, but it wasn’t going fast yet, until @actifit came along. Actifit is the easiest way possible to make sure you post everyday. All you have to do is write a couple lines about the day you had and make sure your activity count for the day is at least 5000 steps and you will not only get a steem upvote, but also afit tokens and sportstalk upvotes.

Since you can add lots of tags to your actifit posts, I now daily earn some steem, pal, marlians, sports, afit, ctp, lifestyle, neoxag, zzan, bilpcoin etc.

Very soon I will reach the 25.000 sports tokens milestone. All because of @actifit and lots of walking in real life to get those daily steps.

I was able to invest some money into steem, mostly through the coinbase-earn program. And on average, I now see a return on investment of around 20%.

But that is not all that keeps me here. Besides the plankton community, I also love being involved a bit in the steemleo tribe, the ctp tribe, the @spinvest investment community etc.

I also keep an eye on the marlians tribe with their uloggers, the upfindme tribe which has seen massive growth in the value of their token and the lifestyle tribe who are being advised by the steemleo team. Arguably the most successful tribe on steem-engine.

I now see a very bright future for steem, steemit, steem-engine and its multiple tribes. Do get involved yourselves, invest some money into it, because when this compound interest thing starts rolling for you, it will just keep rolling faster and faster without slowing down.
