In The Krill Of The Night

Our story picks up with Plankie sitting in a cold, dark prison cell in PlankTown after a terrible fight with an Orca in Shadow’s Pub. The whole thing was just a total coral crap.

When BlueBerry Krill finally came to visit me in PlankTown Prison, we held each other through the prison bars. Her big brown eyes were so beautiful in the low light. The jail only has one small eel for power at night, so it was hard to tell if she was crying. Especially being underwater and all.

There is one thing you should never do. Never put me in a prison that my cousin runs. His name is GloboPlank, but I’ve called him Globie my whole life. Gosh has it really been over three weeks? Anyways, the important thing is, he’s the Shereef of PlankTown. Must be my plucky day. Globie tossed BlueBerry Krill the keys with a wink of his eye and said, don't go past the reef.

My buddy, Plankork, who I grew up with, hangs out at the reef a lot. Usually in the weeds. We seahorsed around a lot when I was little. The last thing Globie said as we left was to be back before low tide, because the last thing he wanted to do was look for a krill in the night. And that give me an idea for a new song.

As we were leaving town, there was BurnieSandler high up on a huge cliff overlooking PlankTown. He stood there like he had for my whole life. His long hair and robes flowing in the undercurrent, his blazing eyes powered by two powerful, electric eels, and holding two huge clamshells with writing on them. On his back was a powerful bow, and he had a massive quiver of flags. My PlankDad and MinnowMama always told me to never talk to him, but I always say hi, and he silently mouths hi back, with a wink from one of his blazing eyes, while making a little shush sound. I think he likes me because I bring him stuff I find, like strings, sealing wax and other fancy stuff.

So my band, Plankie and the DollFinns headed into the studio. But not before I had the night of my life with my BlueBerry Krill. I’m totally thorax over exoskeleton for that sea goddess.

All five of the DollFinns were dressed to Krill, and wore the five satin dresses provided for the session and video. What an experience laying this track down with my sweet and salty BlueBerry Krill sitting in the booth with the producer. I want her to be forever my Krill. I'm not in it just for the thrill of the Krill.
