Project summerhouse (5): The backround work

in planning •  6 years ago

Last autumn we placed an order for a summerhouse package. Right after that, we had to proceed with bureaucracy and different plans (electricity, plumbing, foundation etc). That was very important, exciting and frustrating at the same time.

Why important? Well, everything should be planned well, it's just crucial. Finnish bureaucrats are very precise and very demanding. I guess it's a good thing in many ways but often it's a lot of work.

Why exciting? Of course, it is!! Planning your new summerhouse is so cool!

Why frustrating? Well, that's because no one did the planning but us. No one (other project participants) knows how much time we had to spend on planning and organizing and I feel that we didn't get appreciated for that. They know nothing about the strict bureaucracy, the boomerangs we had to handle (luckily, not many) and all the details we had to learn and get familiar with. While having a small kid, jobs, other things to handle (our kid was ill too many times during spring), we really had to put a lot of effort into this special project as our time was so limited and we were very tired. I think that a simple thank you would have been enough.

All in all, we got everything ready in time and when the summer started, it was time to act! About that action, read in my next posts. :)

Where is new update 😉

It's difficult to put so much time and effort to something when you have a small kid who needs so much attention.
