Cybernetic Plant

Scientists have made it possible for plants to use robot wheels using the phototropism feature.

By using a wheeled robotic mechanism, the plants can move towards the light. Although the plant looks like a flowerpot, the plant is self-controlled thanks to the electrodes connected to the plant. Normally plants feel light, temperature, touch, wounds, pressure, and environmental factors. Thanks to the electrodes connected to the cybernetic plant called Elowan, electrical signals from the branches and leaves are processed.

Placed between two desk lamps, Elowan can move towards the lamp when it's on. Researchers will thus allow plants that want light or water to move freely at home. Of course, the same thing may be useful for the overheated plants to get away from the sun. The researchers aimed at combining cybernetic plants with their natural and perfect system with robotic systems to use their sensitivity to light.
