Mangrove is a plant of the genus Rhizophora and family Rhizophoraceae. This plant has the character of a large tunjang root with shoots that are covered with tapered leaf, and fruit that germinates and takes root while still in the tree is called (vivipar). Mangroves grow along the tropical coast of the mangrove world. Generally, mangroves will grow in tidal areas (estuaries).

Mangrove plants have a role to filter the salt of sea water into the river. Mangrove tree itself has an important role as a place of living marine life, both for shelter, foraging, spawning and nurturing. Food sources for the species living around them. Mangrove trees are also the staple of a product such as firewood, charcoal, tannin,
fodder, and drugs.
