The art of fish keeping has evolved considerably overtime. From simply keeping a gold fish in a small bowl, to setting up fish tanks that attempts to mimic the natural habitat of our pet fishes, now has transformed into complex, high tech driven hobby on the art of keeping fish while also growing amazing underwater gardens.
By no means comparable with the best aquascaped planted tanks out there, here's my attempt at creating a grassy aquascape using Dwarf Hair Grass as the carpeting plant and petrified wood for hardscape which also serves as the homes for its inhabitant cichilds.
This kind of setup is labeled as "high tech setup" in the world of planted tanks. To be considered high-tech, one must have high light and pressurized CO2 injected into the tank. Sounds complicated right? For a beginner, yes it is complicated and one must do their due diligence to do the research before diving in. The reward can be amazing. I personally find the hobby as a way to de-stress and forget about things while I maintain the tank, trim the plants, do my weekly water change and just stare at the tank like I'm watching a live stream in 4K.
