That in turn has resulted in pictures being less valued, or the creation of pictures to be less carefully thought-out. What was once a higher entry barrier is now available to your average person.

Pictures of objects mean much more to me than pictures of people. I find that people like to hide their insecurities behind things. The more than flaunt one thing, the more likely they're actually insecure about it. Plants and inanimate objects are pure in the sense they have no insecurities. They are not trying to look like something they are not.
