Children´s playground close to nature

The day before yesterday I was playing with my boy and we decided to go out to check out our neighbourhood´s playground. The playground is just 50m away from our apartment but I have to admit that I have been there before only once or twice. That is mainly because I´m too old to spend time there and my boy has been too young so far. Now, on the other hand, it was time to explore and try exciting new things.

After putting clothes and walking for 5min we arrived at the playground. There was plenty of different devices, swings, carousel, sandbox, slides and other minor devices. The swing and the slide were our favourite devices there and we spend a lot of time just using those two devices. After some while, my boy discovered some weird area next to slider and it was an anthill. Maybe it was weird because the ground was moving randomly. The anthill was not too huge but there was a lot of ants who crawled out of their holes after the winter. It was exciting to watch the ants building their hill.

The anthill was only 5m from the slider and I just wonder what could have happened if I wasn´t awake and stopped my son to go there. I can imagine that it would have been a quick and painful lesson. This time we just observed the ants in peace. We’ll let the nature teach us how ants are defending their home if there is an intruder coming a bit later. After all, it was a very nice playground close to nature. We’ll definitely go there again to spend some time and learn new things.

Children have to be introduced to nature and learn how to operate there from the beginning.

Yes, step by step.

Good that he didn't get bites. :)

Not on my watch😀

Yep. XD

Today, we took care of our godson and also experienced the playground for the first time :) the slide was the best :)

Sound like a fun bonding day with your son. :-)

And good that you anticipated the situation and managed to avoid the bites. :-)
