SANCTUS

in poem •  7 years ago

You claim to be the best in spirit, you swear the heavens know, acting holier than thou, claiming the spirit flows.

You tell a brother his shoe lace isn't tied, when you haven't cracked your sole, you tell a brother he isn't living right, when you haven't searched your soul.

Sanctus, the latin word for holy, Inspiration I sniff when writing these slowly.

You claim to be holy, with the speakers you announce, you measure your holiness using units like ounce.

You have the laws at heart, criticizing a brother on a sabbath.

You are quick to loud your alms and your brother's mistake as haram.

Sanctus, never label yourself as holy,
you get adored here on earth and miss the eternal glory.
