The Island Revisited, Episode 1 (interactive rhyming adventure)

There was this kind of rhyming choose-your-own-adventure game that @wrongjohn was doing for a while. I guess maybe he's left Steem, or taking a break, but it was clever and fun, and there's no reason we shouldn't do it in his absence! So I've decided to pick up the thread he dropped and try to run one of these. I'll even start by maintaining the island theme that his last one had.

Each post will be a pair of quatrains with the eighth line missing. You, faithful readers, will supply a line that continues the narrative in a direction you like and fits the rhyme scheme. Also, vote on any options that you like. The one with the most votes becomes canon and steers what I have to create for the next entry. I'll try to create a step of the adventure every other day.

Your memory returns in fits
Is this where you'll call it quits?
You saw the island spinning round
Your plane was tumbling at the ground

Somehow, something, saved your bacon
You've prayed, but still, you feel forsaken
