RED STRANDS

Red Strands

Red Strands of sand
Colored by the sun
At noon and five

Smile and friendly
And dark cup of coffee
I’m placid, I’m taken
I’m weak, I’m simple
I’m old and fragile

A mystery unfolds
So very ever vivid
Odorless
Second hand emotions

She smiles, she shrugs and she glances away.
As I suddenly fall beneath the floor.
Her attention and affection now turned
To a new place, to a new face.

As i'm dusted away.
