Veneer

in poem •  6 years ago  (edited)

Veneer.

A rage:

the pestilence of unwanted
pressures
that press on my mouth
and press on my ears,
cause them to bleed
a dirt hued
disastrous
consequence
of unutterable
expletives and
a flailing veneer.

Misconstruction ensues.
Deconstruction
follows.

Convenient misinterpretations
lead to abuse
and a reconstruction
of externally perceived
veneer by those
that indulge in the peer led
hacking and carving
of victim
targeting.

Result:
Isolation,
swiftly followed
by determination;
self-defence in the face
of injustice led
blatant offensive
of one-time
friend called faces;

once golden veneer
now roughened and toughed and
hardened to
maximum tensile force of
alloyed steel.
