Like lost souls that have been forgotten,
Are the sailors of the Merchant Marines.
Sailing their cargo around the world.
A career for a young boy with dreams.

Supporting our nations strong military,
Any time when there is a war.
Transporting cargo, fuel, and equipment,
From our home to any distant shore.

Our sailors serve behind the lines,
As faithful as anyone can be.
Spending time away from home,
Missing their friends and family.

Way down inside the boiler room,
The engineers are making steam.
While mates plot the ships course,
Working together as a team.

Standing late night watches,
Until the early break of dawn.
Riding the stormy waves,
Until the sea gets calm.

Keeping the cargo moving,
Never getting any rest.
We may be forgotten,
But our job we do the best.images.jpg
