I plant a seed

in poem •  2 years ago

I plant a seed
My hands became one with the earth
Oh how I delight to see
My seed spring out of the ground

I plant a seed
With my mind set on one goal
The bountiful harvest I shall reap
At the end of the season

I plant a seed
Working tirelessly under the sun
My body aches in pain
My hand sore from toiling

I plant a seed
I marvel at it's beauty
As it begins to grow
What a sight to behold

I plant a seed
Watering it everyday
Giving it the attention it's needs
To produce abundantly

I plant a seed
Pulling out thorns and weeds
Creating a safe space
So that it can thrive

I plant a seed
