That happy desire
Like a brand of fire,
Burnt melancholic hole
In his heart's core
Every restful and restless night
He looked for that old light
And slept and woke
In the very hope
That one day he may see it
But time went on
Merciless and unfaithful
And he remained in darkness
Cloaked with the night
Hidden from the light
Never to see the day.
What had fate determined?
No one ever knew.
Powerless against the march of time,
Powerless against the maze of fate,
Such is the fate of mortals.
From the mouth of madness,
From the clutches of death
From hell and back he came
But all still in vain.
For it is no easy feat
To attain that golden light
To bathe in it's might
To live and die by it's side.
But with the light of hope ablaze
He set forth to conquer that maze
Praying that one day
Beside his light he may lay,
And live and die by it's side
live and die by it's side.
