REFUGEES

Enemies at the gate
Too fierce for our warriors
Yet our warriors fought
Long and hard they defended
We have to leave
Our city is getting burned

Women, children and elders
We marched long and hard
Striding weakly on the earth beneath
Always looking back
Looking back at the rising smoke
Looking back at the gory cries of our warriors

Our stomachs are growing ever bigger
Our legs are growing thinner
Hands have become like sticks
Heads have become mighty and heavy
We can't weep
All energy is for breathing

One by one
We fall and never rise
Vultures are feeding fat
Sea of scavengers are ever on our trail
Death is always amongst us
Smiling upon us like the sun

I want to give up
But death seems to loath me
He avoids me like a plague
I suffer from my suffering
If God exists
I need his apologies

birth control is key and is not addressed. Africa won´t be prosperous while each family is of 8/10 offspring

I'm hopeful of a better future, so we the young people must work towards it. We need to correct all social ills to the best of our abilities.
