Through those lanes

Through those lanes,
I walk again,
Alone this time,
Hoping you'd return.

The path seems forlorn,
The wait is so long,
Memories of the bygone,
A plaque, that invades.

Trees have cried,
Tears have dried,
Flowers haven't bloomed,
And so haven't I.

Happy smiles faded,
Love and trust traded,
A hope to live and love,
Burnt to fine ashes.

Through those lanes,
I walk again,
Alone, this time,
Hoping you'd return.

Hoping you'd return,
Making me lively again.
