seven is the number
granting wishes
ever and ever and ever

crabs pinch their prey
crab placed in a bucket
crab eaten by human

history creeps forward
humans wait and wait
green plants and rocks

i'm not loving
where this poem
is coming and going

let me try a long line
easier or harder this way
why even bring that up?

downward facing dog
upward facing man
sideways falling rain

people talking and talking
people chalking and chalking
animals pouncing and pouncing

time lurches forward toward now
time dislodges in moments of then
stop talking and start knowing later

"I believe that all human beings must dedicate themselves to writing poetry for half an hour every day, without worrying if the writing is good or bad, if it will be commercially successful or not. Poetry as a constant in life purifies the ego."

-Psychomagic: the Transformative Power of Shamanic Psychotherapy by Alejandro Jodorowsky
