Now I Sit All Alone

Sometimes I think back to,
How It was used to be,
When you were the boyfriend,
And the girlfriend was me

Even on the rainy days,
Everything was fun,
When you'd pick me first,
And I loved you over anyone

At first we were just couple,
Didn't know if you were the one,
And now I regret those shy years,
Which now are dead and gone.

And then one day,
Under the beautiful sky
You asked if I would marry you,
And with a "yes" it was you and I.

Together we made great steps,
Found a home in a nice town,
Stayed together: us two, forever,
I thought we'd never be shot down.

And then, to my great surprise,
The doctor came and told me,
And I told you, and we were excited,
For the coming days of our sweet baby!

But baby didn't survive -
Remember how I cried for days?
And how through it all we stayed strong,
Together in life's great maze.

But it all got better,
Years came and went like snow,
And though I enjoyed our time,
I wondered where those years did go..

Those secret moments that we shared,
Where had they all gone?
Why did happiness fly by so quickly,
And sad times took so long?

And then one day came some bad news,
And I remember how you told me,
Trying to joke about your cancer,
And how you had to go for chemotherapy.

They way I felt so awful and sad,
Sleeping by myself, all alone,
Until you came back fom the doctors,
Came back to me and to home.

And then one night, I had a dream,
Of lost souls and a spirit.. gone
And when I woke up the phone rang,
And said that you...

.... didn't survive, all along.

I didn't think I'd live
Or was I already dead?
I couldn't be without you
You spun around in my head.

But though I tried to forget you,
Without you home wasn't home,
Life wasn't life,
So now I sit all alone.
