Without a Dream

Every moment's bleak
and dark
Without passion in my
heart

Every thought is hazy
grey
Without fancy in my
brain

Fabrications of my
mind
Seem like a fool's
paradise

But my castles in the
sky
Add some spices to my real
life

Swept up in reality
I find refuge in
fantasies

Stories woven in my
mind
Stories that absorb all of
me

Magical worlds so
different than mine
They absorb my very
mind

As I've said I'll say again
Imagination adds thrill to
life

Although fantasy is not reality,
It certainly gives it a zest, a zing.
