The Sting

THE STING - INEVITABLE BY DESIGN

For thy hour came and thy sting was felt…

For thy sting brought grief,
With sorrows so deep.
For thy sting struck hearts,
With a consuming bitterness.
For thy sting is death,
And inevitable by design.

Oh Death!
What a rose you have withered,
With the beauty it radiates.
What a gem you have stolen,
With the compassion it wields.
What a vacuum you have left,
With an emptiness so strange.

But in time we seek healing,
And in the memories that we hold.
For what time may not heal,
Thy memories may ease.
Adieu Sweet Mother.

Written in Loving Memory of My Late Mother who left our world 17 years ago.
