ON THE RANCH

in poem •  6 years ago

Thursday with clear morning weather
Left **Markurdi **after a heavy night rain
At Gboko the sun smiles wilo wee
While justic was done to African dish
The change started after Tsar Mbaduku
Clear fluctuation between Obandiku
To the foot of the Ranch.

Here we come after kilometer one
Expecting to make several of them
In a snake like climbing movement
Slowly but fearfully
Passing through* 'the devil's elbow'*
Experience good to have in lifetime
The Ranch, here we come
Meeting the 'Irish winter' weather.

Visibility extremely low
At two o'clock prime meridian
Already looking eight o'clock prime meridian
Car headlamps in full beam
You are not a fool to drive fast
As next meter introduces you to sharp bend.
