AMOR'S LABYRINTH [Philip Daniel; 2020]

AMOR'S LABYRINTH

Idle warmth,
Whence thought metaphysic does rise, betray our pledges.
So gone forth
Have we,
To hunt worth
Worthwhile.
Once trod north,
That sod swarth,
Below sky, beguile
Our spirits, our souls trapped 'mongst hedges
Of yew,
Signs true.
Winds blew
Awhile;
We hunt worth
Worthwhile,
Hence not paradisic. Laws wise allay hours' wedges,
Nature's troth,
Sublime worth,
Erstwhile
Called, come forth
Above idle warmth,
Idling worth,
No guile.

We, the two, apart in togethering, witnessed and embraced the aurora borealis and the fata morgana.

Refusing sentiment, prologue to the brutal, transcendence yet eluded our grasp.

Bridal hearth,
Tense, naught beatific -- cause lies, convey dour dredges.
Oh, drawn Mirth-
-Salve, see
To stunt worth
Worthwhile.
Once awed north,
That clod dearth
Below sky, awhile
Our limits, our tolls sapped 'longst ledges
Love knew.
Vines grew,
Winds threw!
Fertile
Sea! Blunt earth!
Worthwhile?
Thence, not paradisic. Laws wise allay hours' wedges,
Nature's troth,
Sublime worth,
Erstwhile
Called, come forth!
