A Scaled Fable - Tranformative Poetry

The snake slides around its favoured tree.
waiting for unsuspecting prey.
down he coils ever lower.
exposed, unaware.

A single mistake, greed consuming.
The ground turns upside down.
landing on his sly head.
An eagle swoops.

Now it's my time.
Listen to the beat of my tune screams the bird.
Soaring into the sky.
Circling higher, like the coils tighten.

He falls.

Sinful.
Blood spilling into the grass.

Suckled by slow tugs.

A beak dips stained crimson.

Silent eyes waiting for the spoils.

Fret not little snake.
You turned and tumbled a little to late.
That branch you see reached out to you
wishing not for this fate.

It wasn't your favourite tree you see.
A tree belongs to no beast.
Man claims it not, that owner is Rot.
The cycle swings, gives and takes.

Your skin will grace anothers boot.
Perhaps even take root.
The mouse saved will spread some seed.
Not today will they bleed.

Unlike Belinda, the reader confidendy distinguishes men from monkeys, lap dogs, or parrots, whose perishing must be weighed in a different scale from that of humankind. Or must it? This line expresses the failure of Belinda's society to grasp the distinctions that confer meaning and seriousness upon human endeavor.

Honestly speaking m not interested in poetry but the photo of Indian actress as a snake used in your post attracted me to read this

Powerful pics. High value content. Thats the worth phrases represent to your work @sammosk

The snake today unfortunately, isn't killing and being on the vicious side till the end of the day.

The eagle glides with it in the sky and droos to the tree, who in her own terms, bashes words against the snake.
"The tree is of no beast".

Beautiful lines.
