Send me death
I beg you
She pled
At his impassive feet

I want nothing
More
This life
Has me beat

His stern beard
Motionless
Despite the wind
That blew

If you don't send it
You'll suffer
This promise
I make to you

But the statue
Remained
Impassive
Even when struck

With her shoe
