Poem no.66 : Prisoner/Prigioniero

A prisoner, I used to be
But, a different kind,
I used to think, that I was free
But the prison, was my mind.

I was the one getting in my way
By making excuses, and blaming others,
I was feeling guilty everyday
And I was jealous of everyone, even my brothers.

Then, one day, I understood
That my thoughts, imprisoned me,
So I Iearned to change them, and felt good
I broke those chains, and became free.

So, your thoughts learn to control
And the negativity, don't try to suppress,
Always, be at peace with your soul
And live to be happy, not to impress.

Non ero altro che un prigioniero
La mia gabbia, era la mia mente,
Pensavo di avere la libertá di pensiero
Ma mi sbagliavo fortemente.

Mi sono imprigionato con i pensieri
Incolpando gli altri, creando scuse,
Essendo geloso dei bianchi e dei neri
E avevo sempre le idee confuse.

Poi un giorno ho capito
Che dovevo cambiare il modo di pensare,
Che non esiste nulla di proibito
E da quella prigione, mi son riuscito a liberare.

Se io ci sono riuscito
Puoi farlo anche tu,
Niente in questa vita é già definito
Si può sempre fare di più.
