POEM: DARK AND TWISTED KIND OF LOVE

in poem •  7 years ago  (edited)

She KILLED ME just so she could revive me
I told her I'm a raging storm,
She said she could survive me

I grabbed her and threw her against the wall
She came back and hit me like a racking ball
I am a man; I got up and stood tall
She looked into my eyes and said she's been through it all

I am an immovable object
She is an unstoppable force
I dominate her as a subject
She infiltrates me like a Trojan horse

I hold her head under water to see how long it would take for her to drown
She doesn't struggle but plots how she will get back her crown
I think I am winning but then she hits me with a hammer; I lay on the ground
She looks at me and says men don't cry; don't make a sound

I contemplate my revenge against her
She approaches me from the back; after that it's a blur
I wonder what has she done to me
She whispers in my ear "your near death looked lovely"

I smile as I regain consciousness
She smiles but exhibits cautiousness
I wonder if she hears my thoughts
She looks at me and gives two nods

I now see she's in my head
She's killing me from within
I realised this is the thing I dread
She sits there looking as calm as she's ever been…

aaahh :( i felt the pain :( you're so fantastic that you come up with this one! well-composed ;)

Thank you Leslie. The pain runs deep. When it exposes itself like this, I hope all who read it will feel it.

yes, you truly are a great composer :) I hope a lot of people could appreciate reading poems and realize that there are also hidden meanings behind it .. not just reading pocketbooks :(

Your comment truly humbles me. I do try my best and I am happy you've enjoyed reading it.

Its sad that people take poetry fro granted and don't recognise its power.

i really do love literature and it's my pleasure to meet people who adore it more than me, like you :) as i'm reading your composition, feels like i was dragged to remember my past ..

I hope the past isn't too painful. What happened if I may ask?

I used to love someone that all I can see was perfection even if his flaws and madness are the only things he kept showing. We experienced Long Distance Relationship and I kept sincere and loyal to him but when I came back? He's already with someone else. And what made me feel like a mess was that he cheated while we're still together and he even lied to my face. Continuing each day like there's nothing happening. We lived in the same boarding house. I just knew his secret when we had this very small fight when I failed to say "good morning" by which he really used to hear from me every day. And everything falls to pieces when I knew that the woman has already a child and it's his, while we're living on the same roof and he's giving me a great smile every day and made me lived with his white lies. :(

I am so so sorry that this happened to you. Some people are just cruel. They only think of themselves and hurting the ones that love them comes easy. For hurting you life is going to have its way with him. What we do has consequences, especially when we hurt people.
You are such a kind soul I can tell. I'm sure you've healed from that and have become a better person.

I'd like to see how some people would respond to the line,"I grabbed her and threw her against the wall."

In today's politically-correct era, some may complain about that line. It doesn't bother me, per se, because as I read the poem, it seemed that this was partially describing an inner struggle.

Two lines that I liked were,

I am an immovable object
She is an unstoppable force

When I read those lines, I asked myself, What happens when an unstoppable force comes in contact with an immovable object?

This is my reflection of life. It could be an inner battle of one soul, my reflection of my own soul. It's not an actual occurrence between two people but it can apply to people who have actually experienced such violence in their lives. I couldn't care less about political correctness when there's so much happening in the world that deserves our attention. We should call a spade a spade.

When these two forces meet... only destruction, death, results!

When you write one line of poetry, write it like your own way. If the piece of poetry you're quoting crosses multiple lines of the literary work itself, you will still kind them in your text run along. Show the reader wherever the poem's line breaks fall by victimization slash marks.....thanks for your poem and make me thoughts...

Thank you for the advice and thank you for reading.

Once again you have harnessed the power of words to create a thought provoking poem.

Once again thank you for coming by for a read. I always smile when I see you've commented.

It's a pleasure to read your writing. I'm delighted my comments bring a smile to your face.

Thank you. Blessed day.
