Original Poem: The Shore

Eyes wide open, I see the shore.
But the waves come crashing down even more.
I'm cold. I'm wet. I'm tired. I'm weak.
I can't lose hope. It's the shore I seek.

I keep rowing on, the sand is near.
I keep rowing on, toward land, so dear.
The ship may be lost, but not the lore.
With eyes closed tight, I lay on the shore.
