Wasting the day.

in poem •  2 years ago

I crush it for cash but rushed my youth.
I got old before I knew and missed the truth.
Sneakers and bags, I used the money I earned.
Little did I know my childhood, I burned.
Hot sidewalks and fleeting friends.
Summer nights and burning ends.
I could still see them as they walk away.
My future dreams focused, wasting the day.
