The night you left me.

in poem •  7 years ago  (edited)

My chest was aching, my hands were shaking.

I could feel the very core of my soul trembling in the pit of my stomach.

I didn't know whether to run,

or to fall apart.

I chose both.

My feet carried me out into the midnight moon,

through the thorns of roses that felt like how you kissed me.

I heard screaming in the dark parts between the starts that seemed to echo the torment in my heart.

Self-sabotaging in the way it craved the very thing tearing it apart.

You gave me nothing, yet I felt everything.
