Human Beings: Who We Really Are

in poems •  7 years ago

Human beings, are we still alive?
Fellow Earthlings, do we still exist?
Do we still care? Can we still thrive?
Are we still willing to neutralize the burdens that persist?

Biologically, we're the highest forms of animals
Economically, we're the productive individuals
Psychologically, we're having a rational mind that we do possess
And spiritually, we're created through the Supreme Being's likeness

But now, we turn back to our own kinds
We even engage in any form of hypocritical judgement
We believe lies and biases by our blind minds
And what we point out and see is actually someone different

From what they know it much differs from what we see it
But why, why do we so easily brag and generalize?
From our mistakes we know we all repeatedly commit
But why, why do we find so hard for us to apologize?

Because of these, we human beings lose our humanity
All due to excuses, competitions, and specifically money
Each of us are driven by our own standard and mentality
That control us to achieve our desires with efficiency

In our ignorance, we fear to ask ourselves of real things
And we can't see ourselves as truly human beings
We do not act with compassion and benevolence,
Instead, we put ourselves risks just for a big audience.

It is us who influence others and make great discoveries,
But it is us who should eliminate our own boundaries
It is us who formulated our own high standards and mentalities,
But it is us who should understand our differences and similarities

Such capability we have should be utilized in efficiency
And understand and respect each man's imperfection
Human beings should give others justice and mercy
Before we all experience the age of our extinction
