Only17...

She was only 17, in the town of Raftel.
Many wished for a knight, but not her
To sleep without a saddened heart, she cherished
Then one minute she blinked, and it was all gone
Now she's waiting on a boy from when she was 17.

So much time, yet so little
For with your sultry promises and sickening intoxication
You said 'I don't want to hurt you'
A world away, you're living your dreams
Still she goes to bed with a heartbreak from when she was 19.

At 20, she writes, remembering you once asked her to
She scribbled words, though you never read
Was love to you as it was to her?
In the dead of the night, do you ever think of her?
Have you once reminisced of time past?

How long does it take for a heart to heal?
How long till the void of a clenched heart fills up?
A day?A month? A year? Perhaps a millennium?
Waiting on time, waiting on life, waiting to heal
But even at 23, the past tugs at her old wounds still.

Nice one, feeling cold down my spinal cord, already, woah

Lol... the downside of love truly is one horrible feeling.

One of the worst pains we humans can feel is the pang of a broken heart. "But even at 23, the past tugs at her old wounds still." A broken heart never really heals. I know this to be true because I am broken. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

The emotions at the aftermath of it all, plus the memories are the worst. Your welcome by the way.

So many memories. So much pain. Time heals all wounds but when will hers heal?
