THE NATURE PARK

in poetry •  6 years ago  (edited)

Honey and milk laced with sweat nourishes our fertile cocoa
The crudest of oil nourishes the black on our skins
As our cattle dung purifies the air
Making the rivulets of sweat mingle in solidarity

The tribes of old and new converge in peace like the softest of whispers in Ikogosi
Survival instinct in our blood as sure as the walls of the Olumo
So let the coals of Enugu ignite us in frenzied patriotism
As the green spirit surround and possess us

A park where freedom is as limitless as the geles of the owanmbe
And the old live as long as the poles of the Fulani herdsmen
An invisible hand bind us togetjher like the boys at Aba
A park of pure bliss like the flowing white of the Eyo

Under the shades of statuses and caption our youths find solace
While the elders conspire over the manna from heaven
And animals share in the natural cake
How heavenly is this nature park called NIGERIANigeria-Flag-1.jpg
