I stand in the space between both worlds,
The realm between fantasy and reality.
Deep from the bowels of broken dreams.
I hear sweet whispers and screams.
My mind trapped in the phantom world of imagination,
My body belonging to the bitter world of constriction.
Once upon a mind's journey in a dream of lucidity,
I sat as a young scribe of an aged wise scholar.
Remnant words of the old sage recalled from memory
"Your state of mind is your only treasury..."
Once upon a real journey in a realm of mortality,
I listened to the words of a departed wise man.
Truthful words of my father recalled by choosing,
"You stop moving, you start losing..."
The mind trapped, The body belonging,
Tug of war within my being.

I can really feel the ambivalence in these verses. That kind of push/pull twisted up inside feeling when something is really causing an anxious debate in your head. As with all poetry this is an interpretation and I'm not sure if I got it right.
