Sailing

There are things better left unsaid,
But my skull splits at the seam,
And all the words spill out of my head.
Fragmented half thoughts that I hardly understand.
They all make sense to you.
Sometimes I feel like I'm speaking in code,
But half the words I don't even know.
This is different.
This is new.
I feel you half a world away,
And I'm still drawn by my love for you.
I look at you,
And suddenly remember all the words I meant to say.
Yet somehow they don't seem important anymore.
Like words could never convey
The depth of how I really feel about you.
I know this is cliche,
Writing love poems is hardly new.
I want to tell the world,
But the other half needs this secret too.
I'm hardly sure the would could understand
How deeply I've lost myself to you.
How hard it is not to drown
Merely in my thoughts of you.
I'm treading water,
But you threw me a life raft too,
Pulled me out of the water
Up onto this boat with you.
We made this decision,
To follow wherever the wind blew,
Sailing on this crazy boat with you.
