THE GREAT SEA [DAY 8]

in poetry •  7 years ago  (edited)

This is the 3rd poetry on my sea series, written in memory of my uncle for the 100 days of poetry writing challenge hiosted by @d-pend

Delibrately pounding the rocks against the bay
Pushing up showers of white foam in a cascade of spray
Could you not cease your troubles and let life be
Pushing back and forth, wanting to be free

Oh great and mighty sea of old, why keep such impatience in your hands
Forever going restless in a race for the sands
Meeting the sands and then rushing back
And in your wake shifting shells, pebbles and layers of sandy grain

Oh great and mighty sea of old, so powerful and wild
And the next minute gentle as a new born child
You draw our attention in a show that's immense
Being so not predictable with energy so intense

Oh great and mighty sea of old, no other words to describe you than still
When you neglect the plessure of the thrill
Mesmerising the world everyday
We would not have you any other way

During this last few days, I've come to realise that life is for the liivin, you have to forget the dead and move on with life, because time waits for no man.

Thanks to @d-pend for this opportunity, and special thanks goes to @dorbatim, @verbal-d, and the steemitschool, which you can join here

@verbal-d, you probably don't know this, but you inspire me, and I would like to say a big Thank you.

Thank you, nice name by the way

Nice one! Keep up the momentum @adebayopaul. Life may sometimes toss us so hard, like the way ocean toss waves on the shore, but it is always worth living.

Thank you so much, just put up a strong stand like a rock and stay strong

The ocean calls to me through this poem. Great job! Glad you’re also growing through this challenge, learning things about life!

Thank you. It means so much to me

You did a great job with this. I like how you personified the sea. Like a wise old elder. Very nice.

I think I'm falling in love with you.
Well, not literally
