Tomorrow

in poetry •  7 years ago

Never today, but always to come;
Gained by many, but lost to some.
Shall I gain thee?
Or my sight illude
Can you be subdued?

Forever more or ever still,
Long for you the stricken will,
Sun or rain you know them both
Or neither you may even boast
A brighter darker not a care
None can know how you will fare!

Grandiose or simple small
A gain of fame
A mighty fall
A king a queen a pauper make
The poor or wealthy wages take
The lion prey the cattle graze
All things will find a place.
