The disposed marched on

descendants lay claim to
‘The Promised Land’
that flowed of milk and honey

Two brothers
Two books
One God
Nakbah nightmares of displaced people live in refugee camps
in their own backyard
Driven from land they once owned
No place on a map
Wails and moans fall upon deaf ears
The Qur’an burns
as the world turns the other cheek
Resistance to an occupation met with denial of existence
Determined to exist
Liberation will come after too many are dead
This is not Auschwitz
