ADSactly Poetry - A Collection of Short Poems to Inspire (Part 4)

There comes a time when we just feel the need to express ourselves. Some take a paintbrush to a canvas others slap words on a page. It doesn't matter how you express yourself creatively, just that you do it in the first place. It is so much more rewarding to build or create something than to destroy it.

Today I've brought you two short poems in which I hope you'll enjoy and hope may bring about some joy and happy feelings.

So without any further distraction, I give you this first poem I've written entitled 'It Goes to Somewhere.'

It Goes to Somewhere

Across the river on the other side of the forest there was a long road and it went to somewhere.

Its cobblestones and concrete laid flat and bare as it made its way to somewhere.

At times it was true and straight and narrow other times it twisted and bent and curved around trees and foothills and creeks.

Still it made its way to somewhere.

It elevated its way along miles and miles of terrain and travelled alongside a string of countless estates as it went on and on facilitating the way for an endless supply of travellers and their mates.

The only certainty that was laid was that it made its way to somewhere.

Final Thoughts on 'It Goes to Somewhere'

I've enjoyed reading the poems of Robert Frost, his poems always had a buddhist sort of quality and I have found that the simplicity of his poetry leaves the imagination free to run wild and go where it would like to go. I hope the poem left some sort of an impact on you.

This next piece is quite reflective...

We all have happy and sad memories lurking for us to revisit in the past. Although we can get tied up thinking about the past or the future, our mind should try its best to truly exist in the present. The present moment is the gift few of us truly appreciate and in that moment is when all the good things happen!

I hope this poem below impresses that idea upon readers.

Looking Back at the Past

If looking back at the past we could say we've done more good than bad I'd say we're on the right track...

Funny those that seem to have the most tend to walk the middle path...

What's the middle path you ask?

Sometimes were flush and sometimes were bust...

When were up it never seems enough and when were down it feels we may never find the stuff to get us back up again...

But life goes on regardless of the sentiment.

So let this be a testament and point out the prevelances of a prevailing attitude a selfless act could be the key to a new altitude...

The highs and lows of life are better managed by benevolent souls...

With good intentions in mind the oceans of time in which this story unfolds will play the song that we make just like the rippling waves that crash upon the shore.

Thoughts

There's something about creative writing that really removes the bonds of everyday life and allows us to truly be free and explore!

We can find ourselves exploring places that we may have never imagined going as we make our way through the day to day moments of our lives.

I'm always interested in knowing my reader's thoughts and opinions, so if you liked it or didn't like it, I'd love to hear your opinion either way!

Did these poems affect you in any way? If so, please do tell below in the comments section!

The journey to one goal will certainly be an inner experience for all of us. Likewise, when we see the journey of time that we have experienced, it will certainly become a mirror for us to reach our goals in the future. Then where are we going? of course everyone has either in love, career, or even death. The two poems that make us will be reminded that in our lives we have a future that we want to go to and have a past that we pass through.
All that must make us be wise in acting. Make the past the best teacher to talk about a better future

I appreciate his two poems, as well as his reflection, @zentalk, particularly the first poem. The path is a reality and a metaphor with much significant force: they lead to many places, but the same -I think- is a meaning, as it happens with the journey. I agree with his taste for Robert Frost's poetry (unfortunately little known and widespread), and in general simple poetry and inner search.
His second poem touches on a key aspect: "the here and now", so important in the Zen and Taoist visions, but also in certain ancient Westerners. It is a permanent challenge to try to live in the present. I really liked the phrase: "The highs and lows of life are better managed by benevolent souls...". Thank you for your post.

The paths, which can present themselves with the appearance of many different things (a love, a journey, a death...), follow, run, indifferent to those with whom we live life with the ups and downs of the heart and mind... and life is, in the end, time. And time goes by, with its way of enveloping all things and beings, especially small beings like us, who are tiny particles of time, even though we have such intense existences. It seems that I digress (and, yes, maybe I do a little), but this is approximately the chain of thoughts that triggered your poem ... which is another path offered to be traveled.
Thank you for sharing it, @zentalk.

Beautiful poems! I enjoy reading them!Especially the second poem, it is so true: When were up it never seems enough and when were down it seems that we may never find the stuff to get us back up again... I believe everyone can have the same feelings! It is just how we feel our life!

The highs and lows of life, like the rippling waves that crash upon the shore. Such beautiful words!

Amazing, awesome, nice, beautiful and mind blowing picture @adsactly and waiting for more details

I like that first poem, @zentalk. I think everything goes somewhere. There's nothing that's stopped, not even the stones. Any path will lead us to the encounter of many things, but it will also take us away from others. A path that when we look back we will see our footprints, strong or weak, but that will be a sign of our walking. Like you, I think that writing is a way not only to discover us, to reveal us, but also to hide us. With writing we can be others that we could never be: the metaphor is a mask that covers. I would like to think that readers are also found in the texts they read, they are discovered. Nice Sunday and thank you for sharing.
