Hello Steemians! The ADSactly Poetry : Lucid Lyrics Designed to Expand Minds series is designed to be a sort of platform for sharing some of my greatest works with @adsactly readers.

Many of the verses I've shared and continue to share were written in collaboration with a friend of mine.

Others were written as solo projects and some made their way to the recording booth.

I've got another special piece for @adsactly readers today, this is a short verse which is designed for readers to 'sing-a-long'.

The background music I wrote it to has been embedded below. I dare you to give it a shot!

I really hope readers enjoy these and let me know what they think about them.

Riveting righteousness to the roots rep the real pay the price to feel take a risk to make the wrong choice but believe’it’or’not results came in and guess I’m right again reset take a rest met the right ends resigned to realign and reflect well alright then.

The night is right to meet the knifes end or get behind the wheel may the rubber hit the road with license burn the frankincense under guise of star lightning but what what’s the right way to meet the light man or woman first tie up the loose ends make a few solid moves insurance to protect from loosin the path that we wander is the same path that we were brought up led by the elders that had taught us methodically raising their sons and daughters teaching the many ways of their mothers and fathers all amounts to the lessons we seemed to have learned a lot of.

But the knowledge inside led us to trouble and the beast inside us rumbled wasn’t enough to be content when they got us under a gun to pay the rent tired of playing defense and in a muddle but not looking for a handout well with enough hustle we could make it double but would it ever be enough to satisfy the beast inside that’s yah man thats subtle its like digging our own grave with a tin can using it as a shovel watching the time tick away true every single hour we’re getting paid but once we reach the point of no return we’ll be looking back trying to remember better days where did the time go well we didn’t pay attention to the game and the devil made a trade as those days simply slipped away so be on top of your game.

What do you love and who do you love and what do you need? Is it enough to focus on that and not succumb to greed. When is enough enough about the time when we realize these material things are just stuff, can’t take em with us whats the difference between them and moondust and we can be sure they aint gon’ miss us cause fact of the matter is that most of this ish just sits there viscous.

This piece was very fun to create. It just came so easily and really was a lot of fun to perform. Give it a try yourself and see if you can find a nice cadence for it.

No matter what, I'd very much like to know your thoughts and feelings about these, what you liked or didn't like, I'd love to hear your opinion either way!

I believe that each human being is capable of making his own way and that despite the traces left by others, it is his decisions that will open doors and windows, give him wings or bars. These decisions involve understanding which are the best things for each one of us. Some will think that happiness is in material and superficial things; others will give value to personal relationships and feelings. The idea is not what we take with us when we die, but the way we enjoy this journey called life. And the happiness of that journey you can share, but it is always individual. Greetings, @zentalk.

We definitely are. I do believe there is such a thing as true free will. It may be rare but it exists.

We are always receiving lessons; Some come from our ancestors, our family and environment. We can not escape it. And in that dynamic we are like in a game (in the best sense of the word), consciously or unconsciously. The advisable thing is that our participation in him was conscious and voluntary, so that we could make the decisions that agree to us to determine as much as possible our destiny. Overcoming material limitations and seeking our transcendence will be a way to build permanently. Greetings, @zentalk.

Yes, this seems to have opened a door to the discussion about free will. Some would say we are just programmed and products of our environment. For the most part we are. But mindfulness may allow for possibilities outside of a simply robotic nature.

I "recited" this one to my younger daughter with the Indian tunes as a background. I must say it was fun, but can't say I kept a single tune or any sense of rhythm :)
She applauded, though. I'll keep playing with this and one of these days, I'll give it a serious try :)
I liked the musicality of these verses, the echoing of the "r"s.
There is a generational gap about which I am about to write (in regards to discipline at home and school) and I could, not agree on this regard here.

True, pressing circumstances can make people do desperate things and get in deep shit, but as you say

its like digging our own grave with a tin can using it as a shovel watching the time tick away true every single hour we’re getting paid

"Work dignifies man [sic]", they say, but we know how certain works can actually humiliate man or, worse yet, corrupt them to a point of no return.
There seems to be a material item for every personality. Some people accumulate things as they accumulate interested relationships, for pragmatical purposes only. Others, just for the sake of it. We have the collectors who could not care less if there's someone starving next door as long as they keep adding shoes, coats, jewels, comic books or paintings to their collections.

Thats cool that you tried to perform it! Thanks for giving it a shot. Yah I think the point about working and time more referred to us having to do laborious tasks for money that we have no passion to do. The feeling of being trapped is center stage in those situations and we can literally see the time slipping away.
