If Only She stopped...

If only she stopped,
seeking love in the wrong places, then she might perhaps, still be, the flowered rose, she once was, in the gardens of Innocence, unlike this deflowered wilting thorn that she now is,

If only she stopped,
Serenading to echoes, Chasing chimeras, hugging shadows and kissing illusions, then she perhaps might still be, the queen she once was, beneath her father's roof, miles away from this matrimonial hostage, cuffed by the dogged, yet invisible chains of a place she thought was marriage. Wardened by this man she calls her husband,

If only she stopped,
Sculpting her castles in the drifting skies, this very frail castles she names "forever", this very crippled castles that is bricked by teenage clouds, pillared by breeze columns and firmed by the glue of these wafting dews, then she perhaps might one day have a home to run to, when these raging cyclones begin to leash,

If only she stopped,
Dreaming, just for once, then she might perhaps see through the lies in his eyes, the blood laces around his smiles, the demonic shards on his lips and the ballads his face sonorously sing to her deaf ears, no not her ears, her heart - her joyously deaf heart, then her soul might perhaps, still be virgined and naively sane, unlike the shredded piece of glass Shawl it now is, a survivor of the many random rapes, her illusions wrecked on it,

If only she stopped...
