WAIT

Eagerness pushes roughly
To the cliff's edge,
Wings have grown
But not fully grown.
Other birds parade their beauty
In the noon sky;
Oh! To fly among them
And a voice rings
From the inner recesses,
Depths of my being,
Wait!
Fly you must,
But at the right time.
Amidst the hustle and bustle,
Busyness of life,
There is much activity,
Hardly any time to rest,
Yet a space from within,
Human sized space
Gnaws at my insides;
An external needed
To fill the void,
To provide companionship,
Be the helper.
Eagerness, restlessness, excitement
Carry me in their arms,
Throwing from one to the other,
And a voice rings out
From the inner recesses,
Depths of my being
Wait!
