'Quiet in the Garden ' (a Poem)

in poetry •  5 years ago  (edited)

I'm continuing to compose little poems that may end up in my second anthology! This is my latest effort. 😊

Quiet in the Garden

It's quiet in the garden
Where we first met
Where you spun those tales of mystery
I remember
How you spoke of things
I could never comprehend
How your stories made us tremble
Amidst our revelry

And I was enchanted.

Now there are no streamers
No bright balloons
No cheers drifting upwards
To dance with the firelight:
Attuned to the beat of our dance.

Now there are only shadows
Only ghosts of our footsteps
It's quiet in the garden
That we once knew.

This can be translated in so many ways. It's interesting that the first thought that hit me was our traditional way of story telling. Then it became something else. Something dark.

I love it!

All the very best with your second anthology. Maybe someday I will get an opportunity to read the both of them. Power to your pens!

It tells an interesting tale, definitely. Thank you for your support, @tezmel, always. ❤❤❤
