[POETRY] Ah, Byzantium!

KONSTANTINOPOL, TSARBRAD, ISTANBUL ...

Ah, Byzantium! The world of the former light -
Here, even in the stone on the former tombs,
We feel the ray of divinity in the faces,
But the historical answer is so sad,
From your citizens, that brought only a host of misfortunes!

Constantinople! Glory among the years -
Survived the betrayal of crime,
And let it be an eternity in the Eternity,
But to us the divinity has reached light,
Although the state is not!

Ah, Byzantium! Really in the world was -
Hour and shame, and the fall of defeat?
For the world, faith became a revelation,
That take-off of the empire The gates of heaven opened,
And the Cross of Orthodox gave to all!
