Magnetise Eyes - a poem

Magnetise Eyes

I dare not act and yet, dare act not
so here I vegetate between worlds
lost to dreams that magnetise eyes
and worlds sail by without a plot,
chaos repeating its recipes inside
tasteless pies, flat, collapsed;

I know not where to evolve.

Rigid, dense, vivid. Highly enjoyable in its indecisive fraility. Upvote given.

Thanks.
The poem was taken from a book I wrote. The character was going to one of the poetry cafes so popular in the seventies, where poets would read aloud their poems and then have to listen to it being ripped apart by the public.

Is there possibility to get your book? I would love to read it and then, be able to discuss more broadly :) .

Check my poem too, if you wish. Too often i feel that discourse on poetry here is scarce, or almost non-existent. Which is unfair and sad in all its profound depth.

Book 1 is on Steemit, you'll find it on my home page.

If you have a problem finding the first posts, let me know.

Ok, let me check then.

It's hard for me to understand it.

Maybe...just go with how it makes you feel?

I'm just confused.

As I tried to explain before, poetry is different from reading a story. In poetry, the poet attempts to string the words into lines that create images. Although our images may be similar, we do interpret them each in our own way...so there is no way I can know exactly what my words say to you, what images they have painted.

The truth is, sometimes even the poet does not have a clear image and only learns what the message is from some reader who sees more clearly.

Magnetise eyes mean, not in your control?
Or what you mean by that?

The full line is

lost to dreams that magnetise eyes

In other words, 'magnetise' eyes is what happens when something stunningly beautiful is before you and you cannot turn away or, you do not question whether the thing that is so beautiful is dangerous or evil.

As for the rest of it, I'm sorry, but poems are personal and I would prefer to read how others interpret mine - as I try to do for others who write poetry

Thanks for explaining
