Stringing nice words together
can carry readers to the end
but it won't bring them back
for more if the rest is lacking.
The more I edit
the more critical
I am.
The terminology
is just fancy labels
for what I felt anyway.
@damianjayclay has done it again. He turned a conversation about character arc--or lack of it--into this awesome poem. It's just so ME and I never would have thought to make it a poem myself. If you want more information on unintended poems, check out this article.
Sadly I see a lot of writers who are very talented at stringing the words together neglect the mechanics underneath. They may think they get away with it, but someday it will eventually come back to bite them. Like when they put a book out on amazon and people like me leave 1 or 2 star reviews because they're so disappointed with the non-story.
The SBD and liquid STEEM or equivalent of this post is pledged to @tarc to support their animal rescue efforts. If you want an idea of why this support is so desperately needed, read this recent post by TARC founder @rhondak. Please consider finding a way to support this organization. I don't care if you upvote my post--just help TARC. For the animals.

Oh my gosh, all I see are these #editedbyclay poems :P
I came here looking for a writing instructional, but a poem is cool too!

Hah! But buried in that poem is instruction. Do more than just string pretty words together or you will regret it!
