She Felt

in poetry •  8 years ago

She felt nothing

Her idle ways were slow moving

But she opened her eyes

She finally saw life

As not one of living

But one of feeling

And she opened her heart

And she felt

She felt heaps of emotion

As if nothing was ever felt before

And she felt joy

The joy of a newborn baby

Crying for the first time

And she felt happiness

And it tyrannized her body

Like a trail of goose bumps

Running down her thighs

And she felt colour

The colour of a hot day

On a white beach

She felt at last

At last the exhausting laughter

Between two people

She felt the world

And nothing had ever felt so beautiful

She felt love

She felt love as the butterflies in her belly

Or the tears running down her face

And she knew

She knew no one would ever understand

No one would ever understand how she felt

Because how she felt

Could not be explained
